In the decision No RKT-2/2018, the President of the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection acknowledged that, in the period from the 1st of November 2015 till the 31st of December 2017, the KZK GOP was applying a practice breaching the collective consumer interests.

In the decision No RKT-2/2018, the President of the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection acknowledged that, in the period from the 1st of November 2015 till the 31st of December 2017, the KZK GOP was applying a practice breaching the collective consumer interests.

The practice consisted in the assumption that passengers holding a ŚKUP card with the encoded season tickets without a limit of rides, or entitlements to free rides, who after starting the ride have not registered the entering to the vehicle in a validator, are travelling without a valid ticket and that in such a situation, in the case of a ticket inspection, an additional cash charge and a proper fare are collected, or a report-call for payment is issued, which breached the ban specified in Art. 24 para 1 and 2 of the Act on Competition and Consumer Protection.

Because of the above, all consumers, who were harmed due to the application of the above practice, can apply to the ZTM, till the 19th of December 2023, to obtain a reimbursement or cancellation of additional charges and the proper fares, or a reimbursement of handling fees, paid in relation to the cancellation or reimbursement of additional charges.
