Free rides and special lines on the All Saints’ Day

Publication date: 25.10.2023

The Metropolitan Transport Authority (ZTM) will again facilitate getting to cemeteries. On the 1st of November the urban transport will be free of charge and special bus lines will be started.

As every year, on the All Saints’ Day the ZTM, in cooperation with the city offices, has prepared numerous facilities for persons, who plan to visit the graves of their close persons. Instead of driving a car and worrying, e.g., for a parking place, it will be possible to use all the ZTM buses, trams, and trolleybuses for free. In addition, special lines will be started, marked with letter ‘C’. Because of them it will be easier to get close to the most important cemeteries.

18 special lines in 11 cities

The ZTM, as a result of the cooperation and involvement of municipalities, will start 18 special lines altogether. Buses will be marked with letter ‘C’ and will be running in 11 cities – Będzin, Chorzów, Czeladź, Dąbrowa Górnicza, Gliwice, Katowice, Knurów, Ruda Śląska, Siemianowice Śląskie, Sosnowiec, and Tychy. The routes of the lines have been designed in such a way as to facilitate the travelling to the most important cemeteries.

The first special line may be used already from the 28th of October. This will be line C5 in Katowice. Next, on the 31st of October, 7 lines will be started in Tychy (C12, C13, C14, C15, C16, C17, and C18) and one line in Czeladź (C11). Passengers will be able to use the greatest conveniences obviously on the 1st of November; on that day travellers will have all 18 special lines available.

The list of special lines:

C1 and C3 in Gliwice,

C2 in Chorzów, Ruda Śląska, and Katowice,

Other conveniences will also be available

The free rides on the 1st of November and special lines are not everything, which the ZTM has prepared for the All Saints’ Day period. The organiser of the urban transport has also planned numerous changes on regular lines. They include, e.g., changing smaller buses to bigger ones, starting the night lines, and – or first of all – the introduction of special timetable, valid on the All Saints’ Day s, on approx. 80 regular lines on the 1st of November.

Detailed information

Detailed information on the conveniences prepared by the ZTM for the All Saints’ Day period (28th of October - 2nd of November), along with maps illustrating the routes of ‘C’ lines, will be provided in a special message. It is available on the ZTM website, in the Messages tab.
