2024 Silesian Students Festivals: Katowice starts a free bus line to the Trzy Stawy (Three Ponds Valley)
The City of Katowice and the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ZTM) start a special line for the Students Festival. Buses, marked S1, will operate between the Katowice Sądowa and Osiedle Paderewskiego Trzy Stawy stops. Rides will be free of charge.
The 2024 Silesian Students Festivals will take place in the Three Ponds Valley in Katowice from the 23rd to 25th of May and a special line S1 will be operating in those days. Its route will pass through the very city centre – from the Sądowa Transfer Centre (TC), including Dworzec (Railway Station) and Francuska and Jagiellońska streets, to the Osiedle Paderewskiego Trzy Stawy stop. The Muchowiec Droga do Lotniska stop will be the closest stop for concert participants. The connections will be carried out from approx. 5:30 pm to approx. 3 am. The highest frequency of connections has been planned after the end of concerts – the buses will be leaving towards the Sądowa TC every 10 minutes. The rides by line S1 will be free of charge.
Mr Michał Wawrzaszek, the ZTM press spokesman, comments on that: – We want the participants of the Silesian Students Festivals to be able to get safely to the event’s venue and get back home. Therefore, in cooperation with the City of Katowice, we start a special line S1, which will ensure them free transport during those three days. We do hope that this initiative will have a positive reception and will facilitate movements during the Students Festivals.
Together with starting the special connections, the ZTM introduces changes for line 110. From the 23rd to 25th of May these buses will not be serving the Muchowiec Park and Muchowiec Korty Pętla stops.
