Many attractions for passengers during the European Mobility Week

Publication date: 16.09.2019

It has been taking place since 2002 in the countries of the European Union. Its purpose is to promote sustainable mobility and change the habits of residents. This year's edition will be held under the slogan "Chodź z nami!"(Come with us!). The whole undertaking is an incentive to be active, break the daily routine and a sedentary lifestyle, especially during everyday trips to work or school.

This year's edition will last from 16 to 22 September and will be held under the slogan "Come with us!" The Upper Silesian Metropolitan Area and the Metropolitan Transport Board (as a budget unit of the Metropolis) will actively participate in the promotion of sustainable transport during ETZT through many interesting events for passengers and residents that will take place in the coming days.

17-19.09: Bus route to the AP1 airport!

Selected AP1 airport buses will turn into stages where concerts will take place from Tuesday to Thursday.

Each of them will have a different character. Brass Band and the instrumental and vocal composition of world music will begin. The second concert is something for lovers of blues - but not only. The third concert tour will feature multi-instrumentalists in the company of their own guitar, i.e. two voices of the young generation - the concert will take place in the silent disco formula - because the artists will be able to listen live - but through headphones.

Each concert starts at the Gliwice Plac Piastów stop at 17:35. After arriving at the airport, passengers will have a 25-minute break and a surprise. A kind of concert tour ends with a return to Gliwice at 20:20. Admission to the bus is free, but due to the limited number of seats - earlier registration is required via the form available here: https://evenea.pl/event/metrokoncerty/

18.09: Conference "Metropolitan and agglomeration railways in Poland - directions and development opportunities"

The role of rail transport for the economic and social development of cities and regions is one of the topics of the conference, which will take place on September 18 in the main hall of the JTS (ul. Rolna 43). Free registration applies until 16 September.
