Metropolitan Transport Authority from January
From the 1st of January 2019 the Upper Silesian - Zagłębie Metropolis takes over the organisation of public transport in the area of member cities. A budgetary entity of the Metropolis - the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ZTM) - will be responsible for this task performance.
From the beginning of 2019 the ZTM becomes the only transport organiser, merging the hitherto three organisers - Municipal Transport Union of GOP, Municipal Transport Management in Tychy and Intermunicipal Passenger Transport Union in Tarnowskie Góry. Ever since all buses, trams, and trolleybuses will be operating under one sign - ZTM For passengers What do these changes mean for passengers? The urban transport operation will proceed without any disturbances.
All tickets retain their validity, their prices do not change, there are also no changes related to timetables, bus or tram lines numbers, the operation of the hot lines or of service points. New patterns of single-travel tickets will be introduced from January, but what is important, the hitherto tickets will remain valid. Passengers, who already have bought tickets, can use them without any problems - there is no defined deadline for their validity.
New name The new name of transport organiser - Metropolitan Transport Authority will start to appear successively on elements containing identification of entities so far (tariff information in vehicles, tickets, stops, or service points). Modifications will be carried out successively, while passengers can use the entire urban transport in accordance with hitherto rules.
