ZTM representatives on the 78th inauguration of the academic year at the Silesian University of Technology

The ceremony was participated by the University authorities, scientists, students, representatives of local government authorities, and of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis (GZM) and of the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ZTM), Mr Grzegorz Kwitek, Member of the GZM Management Board, Ms Małgorzata Gutowska, ZTM Director, and Mr Aleksander Sobota, deputy ZTM Director for Transport.

The lecture ‘Transport Systems Modelling Using The Simulation Tools’, delivered by Mr. Aleksander Sobota, D.Sc.Eng., Professor of the Silesian University of Technology, deputy ZTM Director for Transport, was one of the main parts of the ceremony.

- The participation in such ceremonies results in closer cooperation between the Metropolitan Transport Authority and the university, which educates future transport specialists. The development of macroscopic transport models, supporting modern management of transport systems in cities, was the topic of the lecture, which I have delivered. We also discussed about common ZTM activities with scientists and students of the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering, says Mr Aleksander Sobota.

- The Metropolitan Transport Authority (ZTM) was cooperating with the Silesian University of Technology e.g. at the stocktaking of 7000 stops, and also at many other reports on the operation of the system of the public collective transport, adds Ms Małgorzata Gutowska, the ZTM Director.
